Lincoln Fire District Enters Into Contract for New Custom Pumper Truck
On behalf of the Lincoln Fire District, I am pleased to announce that we have signed with Spencer Manufacturing of South Haven, Ml, to build a new custom pumper truck for the District. The truck is expected to be delivered to the District in 650-700 days. On Scene, LLC of Smithfield, RI is the local dealer for Spencer Manufacturing, and we look forward to working with Audra Jaconetti, President of On Scene, LLC, and her team on this project over the next two years.
I would like to thank the taxpayers of the Lincoln Fire District for your support at the October 2023 Annual Meeting of the Lincoln Fire District in approving the expenditure for the new fire truck. I also want to thank the elected Board of Fire Commissioners for the Lincoln Fire District: Michael Allen, Chairman; Daniel Adamski, Vice Chairman; Robert Ferioli; Jean Gagnon; and Paul Grondalski. Their leadership and dedication to the Lincoln Fire District was instrumental in paving the way for this much needed and much anticipated new apparatus for the District.
Finally, I want to thank the District's Committee to Formulate Specifications for a New Engine, which met over many months to develop the specifications for the new truck. Committee members were LFD Commissioner Grondalski, LFD Capt. Jeffrey Almond, LFD Administrative Assistant Darleen Bourgette, and LFD legal consultant Louis DeSimone.
The Lincoln Fire District serves a population of 9,500 residents over 6 six square miles. It is a busy department and the demand for our services is great. In the 2022/2023 year, we responded to 3,241 calls. This new truck will replace a truck that is currently 31 years old and will ensure we can continue to serve the District, the town of Lincoln and surrounding towns who call on us to help for years to come.
Respectfully,
Robert S. Fisher Chief of the Lincoln Fire Department |
